What Kettlebell Lifting Can Teach You About Love

An exercise routine can teach you valuable life lessons.

I started kettlebell lifting five years ago when a nagging injury prevented me from running. Throughout the years, I learned a few lessons and tried to apply them to other areas of my life.

In this article, I share with you the three most important lessons kettlebell training has taught me about love.

1. Don’t Grip Too Tight

Over-gripping leads to pain.

The kettlebell ballistics, such as the swing and snatch, can easily cause painful blisters and callouses if you grip the handle too tight.

I needed to learn the correct placement of my hand and trust that this would be enough to prevent the bell from flying across the room. As I loosened my grip, my movements became more fluid, and the pain subsided.

Isn’t it the same in relationships?

Hold on too tight, and your relationships suffer.

Whenever I let my fear of losing a loved one control me, I become anxious when they don’t text or call at least once a day. At times, I needed constant reassurance that I was wanted and loved. I was overly jealous, and my clingy behavior pushed…
