very true but I don't think that is the main reason for emotional eating. Not that you are suggesting this in your article but many people in certain diet communities are. I found eating low carb, keto and even carnivore did little to help solve the emotional eating issue for me (despite what most of their proponents argue...they're like "finally you find freedom from food addiction" hahaha...didn't work for me but they are too closed-minded to admit it's not so easy...). You are probably right that self-care is what is essential to learn to put food in it's proper place. Especially for people like me, for whom food served as punishment and reward when growing up. Thanks for this article :) I loved it.
