There is a reason why many people are quitting keto diets after a while (you will find them when you engage in the communities...). It simply does not "work for everyone" and I find it a bit sad and disheartening that is not often acknowledged. I ate keto and even an all-meat diet too for a few years (after eating vegan for several year before, I have experimented a lot lol). Over time though I experienced negative effects (brain fog, always cold etc.). Others experience similar things. Just because we don't "need" carbs to survive doesn't mean they are not necessary for good health. There is a difference between "survival" and "thriving". Of course keto works for people, but we also must acknowledge that 1) it doesn't work for everyone and 2) not all other diets are "worse than keto". What is also always swept under the rug is that your body uses stress hormones to create glucose in the absence of exogenous carbs. I am not sure that is a good thing...Sure "a five minute search" will give you superficial "proof" that carbs are not necessary. But if one looks deeper into the science one will see that it's not all so "black and white."
