I don't like these comparisons. Lots of people throw these out there, but it's deeply flawed. Elon Musk loves what he does. So he's probably not exhausted from a job that he doesn't like. It also implies that a 9-5 worker really only works these hours. For me, that's simply not the case (and for many I know). Plus, I doubt he has to deal with "normal people's everyday obligations" like doing his laundry, shopping etc.
If I remember you also have the luxury of working from home. Also a thing many people don't have.
And this also does not take into account mental health issues people are struggling with. For example, if you have autism and / or social anxiety and are forced to sit in an open office for 9 hours you don't have any mental energy left for the day....
But you make a very good point and the most important take away of your article is doing a job that you love. Everyone's path is different. Some of us are simply not made for being entrepreneurs and I think it's a good thing. The world needs both.
