I am sorry if the article offended you. That was not my intention. I don’t think I was suggesting that lifting can get you out of a severe bout where you don’t even have the strenght to get out of bed. And at no point did I say it was a cure-all. What I was suggesting is that it can help improve moods — and have a positive effect on depression. Many people who were diagnosed with clinical depression found that exercise is a factor that “helps” them. Others found certain nutritional strategies. To me it was a help to read those stories because it gave me hope when I was at my lowest. It is not about “fixing yourself” but about seeing a glimmer of hope, no matter how tiny it is. But if one thinks nothing can help them and get offended by stories and research suggesting otherwise then of course that is what one will experience.
