All good points, Anthony. I too believe that educating oneself is critical. However, please note that I didn't say the person you are taking advice from "needs" to have a degree in nutrition science. It is merely a point to consider...I am well aware of the many flaws of nutrition research. FuAnd the point was not that I believe nutrition science is correct but someone with a deeper knowledge will more easily detect bogus science papers...Funnily enough the same people who point out how flawed nutrition science is to defend their argument that their diet is "the only right one" (and nutrition science can't support this b/c it's flawed) will use scientific articles that support their specific diet as "proof" that they are correct. (I could name at least 2 famous influencers here who do this... but I refrain from it...)
