A Quick Guide to Vegan Protein Powders

Protein powders are a great addition to a vegan diet.

I use them when I don’t have time to sit down for a proper meal or add them to recipes. I rely on them after a heavy workout when I can not stomach any solid food.

There is a variety of plant-based protein powders available, each with a slightly different texture, taste, and nutritional profile.

Let’s have a look at the most widely available options:

Hemp Protein Powder

Hemp protein is my favorite protein powder. In case you are wondering, it does not exhibit any intoxicating effects. I find hemp to be the tastiest vegan protein powder and would describe the flavor as mild and nutty. Due to its higher fat content, I store it in the fridge to prevent the fats from going rancid.

Hemp protein is the most easily digested plant protein and has a unique blend of healthy fatty acids and micro-nutrients.

It contains high amounts of the globular plant proteins edestin and albumin, which play a critical role in immune functioning.
